Experience

Madeline Flynn Robinson originally joined MR&D in September 2005 as a part-time assistant engineer, while completing her graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at Villanova University.  From September 2005 to May 2007, Madeline generated finite element models in the ANSYS finite element analysis code, and ran transient heat transfer, mechanical, thermal stress, and dynamic analyses for various thermal protection components on re-entry and hypersonic vehicles.

Ms. Robinson rejoined MR&D in June 2011. Since returning Madeline has been working on the analysis and design of carbon-carbon nozzle extensions for heavy lift propulsion systems. The analyses include static mechanical, thermal, and buckling eigenvalue analyses.

From August 2007 to October 2010, Ms. Robinson was employed as a Design Engineer/Consultant at Latimer, Sommers & Associates. While there she designed mechanical HVAC, electrical, lighting and plumbing solutions for various commercial, government, industrial, and public buildings for both new construction projects and remodels. She generated building energy computer models using eQuest software and analyzed the program’s output reports of annual energy usage and life cycle costs.
