Experience
Kristin is a mechanical engineer from the University of Notre Dame, where she focused on math-intensive dynamics and vibrations courses. She has experience coding in C as well as object-oriented languages. Prior to joining MR&D, Kristin was employed at the Lockheed Martin Company from June 2006 to May 2008 as an engineer in the Engineering Leadership Development Program. At Lockheed Martin, Kristin’s responsibilities included assignments in the Radical Innovation Technology Center and the Market Development group. Since joining MR&D in May of 2008, Kristin has been working on developing a computer-aided textile preform design code containing a graphical user interface (GUI). The code will allow textile preform designers to sketch a weave as part of the design process, view a three-dimensional solid model of the final woven preform, and review the expected material properties of the fabricated preform reinforced composite material. The code will also automatically generate loom instructions for the fabrication of the woven preform.
